Jordan, Qatar Accuse Iran of Breaching International Law
According to reports, Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi met with Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Doha. During their discussions, the ministers reiterated “Jordan and Qatar's condemnation of the Iranian attacks on both countries and on other brotherly Arab states.”
They also emphasized “full solidarity” against these assaults, calling them “a violation of international law and the principles of good neighborliness, and an assault on the sovereignty of states.” The officials confirmed their ongoing cooperation to stabilize Gaza and guarantee the immediate and sufficient delivery of humanitarian aid to the Strip.
Tensions in the region have heightened since a joint US-Israeli offensive on Iran began on February 28, reportedly killing over 1,340 people, including the former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In retaliation, Iran has launched drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf states hosting US forces, while restricting maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
The conflict has also spilled into Lebanon, with Israeli forces conducting airstrikes and ground operations, while Hezbollah carried out cross-border attacks into Israel, further escalating regional instability.
