Malaysian Prime Minister Renews Call for Palestinian Justice, Condemns Gaza Genocide

(MENAFN) Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim reiterated Wednesday his country's demand for peace and justice for Palestinians, renewing its firm condemnation of the genocide in Gaza.

In a statement published on the social media platform X, Anwar also voiced Malaysia's opposition to indiscriminate Israeli bombing in southern Lebanon, urging urgent diplomatic efforts to prevent the escalating regional conflict from spreading further.

“Malaysia’s position is clear. We remain steadfast in our call for peace and justice for the Palestinian people, in our unequivocal condemnation of the genocide in Gaza, and in our opposition to the indiscriminate bombing of southern Lebanon.”

The Malaysian leader expressed deep concern over the worsening security situation across the Middle East, emphasizing the importance of coordination with regional leaders to contain the crisis and avoid further escalation.

Anwar said he had maintained close communication with several prominent officials in the region, including Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, alongside other leaders from Gulf countries.

According to Anwar, these discussions reflect Malaysia's serious concern about the unfolding crisis and its determination to encourage efforts aimed at preventing the conflict from expanding into additional areas.

"These conversations reflect the gravity with which Malaysia regards the present crisis, and the urgency of preventing it from spreading further," he further said.

Malaysia has continued to call for an end to violence against Palestinians while emphasizing the need for diplomatic engagement to address the broader regional crisis. Anwar's latest remarks underline Kuala Lumpur's position that protecting civilians and preventing further escalation must remain urgent priorities.
